MANUFACTURING SOULS

By Vincent Van Ross

We believe that our soul is our atma or our life force. We live so long as our soul resides in our bodies. When our soul departs from our bodies, we die. This is true not only of human beings but also of all other living beings.

God is believed to be the supreme soul or paramatma. Our souls are part and parcel of God or paramatma ke ansh. So, when we die, our souls return to God. That is why we say that we become one with God upon our death.

Now, every religion has a God or Gods. Does that mean that we go to different Gods according to our religious faiths, when we die?

What about an atheist—the one who does not believe in God at all? Who does his soul go to? Would no God welcome him into his kingdom when he dies? Or, do you think all the Gods would queue up and contend for his soul?

The mysteries of life are curious and confusing. But, then, the devil is also associated with our deaths in most religions of the World. What exactly is the role of the Satan or the Devil; or, Yama; or; Shaitaan? Every religion has discovered its version of the devil, it seems!

Actually, the devil is supposed tempt us to do things that would displease God when we are alive so we do not enter the kingdom of God. Does that mean that he is also a contender with God or Gods when it comes to our soul after our death?

But, all said and done, God is believed to be the Creator. We believe that God is the custodian or the life force. That he alone has the power to infuse life into a being.

In the years gone by, we have started cloning animals. Now, we can even clone human beings. We have scientific knowledge and technology to do that…though, it is banned.

Where does the soul or the life force of the cloned animals come from him? Now that the human beings can clone living beings can we claim to be creators too? Are we stepping on God’s realm by manufacturing souls?

Yamaraj in hindu mythology is the god of death, the custodian of souls in the afterlife... according to the hind belief souls do not merge into the parmatma until it achieves mokhsha- freedom from the bondage of rebirth...

You have raised a rather interseting question about souls born out of cloning... but since that process still takes the egg and DNA route, we really cannot say that those are manufactured beings in the truest sense of the word...

if we were to grow tissue from scratch and ”grow” people or being from there, that would be absolute manufacturing... and only then can we lay claim to being near to god’s realm...

Very good questions. The fact that we are capable of cloning proves that we have ”god-like” powers. But then such a thing has been ”banned” leading me to believe thats God’s way of showing disapproval. Just a thought.

Since God is the creator and sustainer , so it can be assumed that the scientists may create the hollow body but its God Himself who enthuses the life spirit into it. Though its nonsense to fool round such a hypothesis, it’s the human brain that keeps on treading where the Angels fear to.

Well, if we believe in god or “gods” then, in context to sir . ross`s article …the thing which is clear to every mortal is that …if we believe in god then its true that we got to believe that it is him who drives us all the time then and if we believe that thing why every second we question him …that too on those things which he makes us do …? I mean which parent in today’s world won’t let his /her child be the best …? And if we are thinking that the father above has given more than we can thrive upon …than its like …the children’s have grown up right? And still more if we think that what ever we are doing is bad then probably the child is above 18, I guess!!! Well this may be an excuse to carry on with the work but at last who on the world can stop innovations?? and why to be so worried about souls ...i mean like are we living in so-a-very-good world that we think of the future of our souls ...!!!!!!

Whether you manufacture a clone or a life form from non-life substances you will still need a soul to make them alive and God alone has to give you that. Even if people have started manufacturing life from non-life substances in the laboratories, they have not entered even a billionth of the realms of God who has so effortlessly created the countless number of creatures of this world.

Nobody can step on God’s realm. The particular person ruins himself/herself by doing such things.

This earth is so little in His eyes. We can’t fathom the depths of His creation which has no end.

We cant generalise a particular issue in every religion. Truth can be one alone.

A better procedure is that we have to evaluate.

The concept of Satan is different . Satan is God’s enemy and is thrown into hell from heaven. He is a disgraced being and his end is going to come.
