ARUSHI HAS CREATED A DETECTIVE IN EVERY DRAWING ROOM

No other case in recent times has created so much of flutter and hogged so much of media highlight.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has complicated the case by what it did. It has on the one hand given a clean chit to Dr. Rajesh Talwar and on the other hand it has tried to implicate three others without establishing their motive to the crime.

Logically speaking, it is unlikely that those who are being implicated now could have committed the crime. Their families are crying hoarse that their confessions are doctored by the CBI officials.

Let us go back to the sequence of events following Arushi’s murder. The Uttar Pradesh police overlooked the trail of blood that lead from Arushi’s body in the room to Hemraj’s body which was lying on the terrace. No investigating officer could have afforded to be so clumsy with investigation procedures unless there was pressure from some quarter to scuttle the case. That is something that those who are in custody now could not have done.

So many evidences were destroyed or tampered with. But, neither the Uttar Pradesh police nor the CBI tried to find out as to who destroyed the evidences and why. Destruction of evidence is a very serious offence in criminal investigations. This also indicates that it could not be the handiwork of those who are in custody now. The charges against them will also fall through in the court of law for want of evidence.

Whatever be the outcome of the Arushi murder case, the one thing that it has done is to create a detective in every drawing room. No other case has been discussed, debated and questioned by common people as the Arushi murder case in recent history.

It must have. It made a detective out of me.

That is my impression too. I have not seen any case being torn apart in drawing rooms. This case has found every member of the family raising questions about different aspects of investigation.

This case made me think. I think the case needs to reinvestigated on the basis of traditional procedures.

Me, too! There is something really murky about the way the entire investigation has been carried out so far.

This idea is so different from run-of-the mill stories on Arushi murder case. I keep wondering how you get these ideas?

Alphonse, That is a difficult question to answer. I am like a drive-in restaurant. Ideas come and go!

i think what turned us all in to self appointed detectives in our drawing rooms was the result of the frustration that crept in after we saw the lax attitude on the part of noida police which was clearly overlooking facts and trying to solve the case in the most unprofessional manner possible.

Sonam,
That is true. But, if you ask me, the CBI did no better.
The things we, as ordinary citizens without any investigative training, are able to see are being overlooked by these investigating agencies. It is a cause for concern.
