Did Man create God?
Did God create Man, or, did Man create God? Blasphemous as it might sound, there are stories to support both the theories.

All religious texts propagate the first theory that God created the universe. It follows therefore that he created Man as well. That God is the be-all and end-all of all universe.

The other theory however contends that the image of God was created as a result of fear psychosis. According to this theory, when the early man set out on long hunting expeditions leaving the womenfolk in the safety of their cave dwellings, the women spent the time in fear. They used to spend the time in anxiety until their menfolk returned with food.

During the absence of their men folk, the womenfolk developed an urge to confide their fears in someone from whom they could draw some solace and courage. That resulted in the womenfolk worshipping nature in its various forms.

Forest fires caused destruction and they started worshipping trees. Landslides caused destruction and they started worshipping stones and rocks. Water inundated their dwellings and made life miserable. So, they started worshipping rivers and the rain.
So on and so forth. That was the beginning of animistic religion. Some religions are believed to have evolved from these animistic rituals.

Then there is the theory of evolution postulated by Charles Darwin which debunks the theory of creation itself. In short, this theory contends that the fittest of the species survive through natural selection and evolve according to the needs of the changing times. The species of living beings we see today are a result of millions of years of evolution.

All the religious texts are, however, unanimous in their pronouncement that God is almighty and that he created the heaven and the earth and the Man. There are stories relating to creation in sacred scriptures belonging to all religions.

God might have created the universe. But, I think, Man to created Gods!

We all believe that God is one. Yet, every religious denomination sees god in an image of its own choice. How can that be?

I personally believe that there is a supernatural power which runs the whole universe through vibrations. We create vibrations through actions as well as inactions. We create vibrations not only through our actions but also through our thoughts. God processes, analyses and responds to these vibration. It works like a huge computer.

Like the computer, if the input is garbage then the output too would be garbage. But, unlike the computer which is inanimate God is compassionate so he listens to petitions of his worshippers. There is however a long queue of petitions so it takes sometime to deal with them. That is why prayers take some time to be answered.

If there were no God, there would be no miracles. I believe in miracles because I have seen some of them. Miracles are not natural. They are supernatural. Miracles substantiate the presence of God even if we do not acknowledge his being in our day to day lives. I, for one, believe in God and have complete faith in him.

The point is: One God might have created the universe and all that is there in it. But, Man has certainly created many Gods to suit every religion!
