In the past two years, I have received atleast 20-25 mails claiming I have won millions and millions- from Microsoft, Coca Cola, Google and Yahoo.

Once even from a bank too asking for my details...lol..

I hope you did not respond to any of them. Actually, those mails are designed to hook gullible netizens and once you get hooked they may ask for an entry fee or something.

But, this one is different. This is an ingenious method of hacking your account with your help. That is dangerous.

I would like to add one more thing to what Omana has said.

As I said, in this case, you not only provide details for accessing your account but also pass on the information he needs to restore your account if it is closed by Yahoo.

Some malicious mails are so designed, that when you click them open they attach to each of your contacts. People who receive them think that its you who sent it, coz the sender address is yours. I had faced a similar problem which was very emabrassing. There are other e-mails which request bank a/c info claiming to deposit a large amount into it of which a certain % will be given to us!!!!

I had a similar experience about three years ago when I opened a mail and the mail got delivered to everyone in my address list.

I can understand your embarrassment.

I have also received a couple of mails in the evening from friends whom I had met in the afternoon saying they have rushed off to some place and lost the money and wanted me to transfer some 2,500 US dollars through Western Union Money Transfer.
